    Halloween

Just wanted to see what the forum members were doing for Halloween, tonight?

Do you turn out the lights and pretend you aren't home?
Arm up and prepare to dispense lead instead of candy to ghouls and goblins?
    Carry discretely in your home?
Happily pass out candy on the few evenings that kids can be themselves?

I figured that a bunch of forum members would be sitting near their computers waiting for trick-or-treaters.

I surrounded myself with ammunition and did an inventory for a trip to Panoche some time in November. (I'm at least 1000 rounds short of my goal at this point).

My parents are passing out the candy, and I'm pretending that the trick-or-treaters don't exist. I was actually tempted (for 3.1 seconds) to "dress-up" in camos and pass out candy with a gun on a sling. But that idea wouldn't go over too well.

Was planning on going to a party, but it got cancelled cause the host got the flu

So now I'm sitting at home with the lights out cause I didn't bother to get candy and I don't feel like getting egged.

Well, I just did the walk down the street to where the neighbors blocked off the cul de sac and decorated the whole thing (they do it for Xmas, too). There were easily 400 people. And me with a 3 D cell maglite and two little guys. It was like herding cats.

I need one of those sambjoks to corral the kiddies.

meanwhile on the homefront...the wife is running out of candy. We started with 10 bags....and I'm cannibalizing what the kids brought home. It's looking bleak....

Locked all doors, turned all lights off and took down anything in the front yard of value and headed to the inlaws with the kids for some door to door action. Every year I skim about 1/3 of my kids best candy for myself. You know like Snickers, milkyway and every year they don't notice. I wonder how long I can keep this up

I grabbed a handful of snickers from the bowl and went to the range and shot.

Turned on the lights, discreetly carry around the house, and waited for trick or treaters to come by. Had candy ready to dispense. Discreet carry only for extreme emergencies. So far, no major incidents to report.

I'm starting to see the older ones now.

Just had a group of 5 show up - 4 regular teenagers mildly dressed up and then the last guy in a blue garage jacket with a black ski mask. It gave me a second of a start <yellow! yellow! yellow!>

I gently advised him to be careful approaching doors with that mask on...

Out here in the Ranchos we had one hearty group make the rounds. Quite a hump when all the houses are 2 acres apart at the minimum. We gave them extra and enjoyed a very quiet evening. Nice to live in the country.....

all done now...had about 200. Not bad.

Lazyman...be nice. I used to be one of those hoodlums. Not so much eggs but a pumpkin can really do some neat things when bowled out of a speeding '69 Caddy!

Got chased a few times by angry homeowners, too.

Tell you the truth, I can't remember a single year when our jack-o-lantern made it til morning.
