My New Sig 556 Swat Pistol has issues

Yesterday I went out and shot my new Sig 556 SWAT pistol and had a few problems with it. On about 6 or 7 occasions the bolt actually locked open while the magazine was still loaded. A simple pull of the charging handle sent the bolt back forward and allowed me to continue firing. Also 3 times the bolt did not fully close on the next round and I had to push it forward to close it completely. I was shooting using Winchester and American Tactical 5.556 and Winchester, Remington, Federal and Fiocchi .223 ammunition.

Not sure what the problems were and I was not expecting any from a Sig Sauer. I was also using different magazines so I don't thing it was a magazine problem. Could just be that the pistol needs to be broken in further as I only put around 350 rounds through it. Kinda sucks having a bad *** pistol that I can't rely on at the moment.

Anyone have any suggestions as to what might be causing the failures?

First off it's not a Sig sauer it's a Sig arms. Is it new or used. Sounds like it needs oil.

Yeah mine was running smooth too when it wasn't locking in the back position. The weird part was that it wasn't a jam or anything like that it was just locking back as if the magazine was empty when it wasn't.

Sig arms... I stand corrected. It is brand new and before I took it out I did like the owners manual said and cleaned off the packing grease and lubricated it. I made sure the bolt carrier was greased and racked it back and forth over 100 times to smooth it out.

Change your mags to Pmag, and lube her up.

I was using USGI mags when I first got it, and it did this as well.

Now after 1000+ rds through it, it doesnt matter what mag I use.

I dont know why the mag does it, but I changed mags and it worked.

I was using a Pmag and the factory sig mag. I was thinking that maybe the mags needed to be broken in a little more so I am going to use a wooden dowel to push down on the followers and try to break them in. I will clean and relube the bolt & bolt carrier then take her out again this week. Hope it works better this time.

I'm gonna say its due to crap magazines. Try a straight up 10 rounder instead using those 10/30 hack jobs of varying quality.

Sounds like it having a lot of trouble stripping the next round. Probably runs smoother towards the end of the mag right.
