I had a real nice place to shoot ground squirrels & crows - now it's gone. Well, it's still there but now my wife's cousin has gone back to Texas. Seems he came home from work & his ol' lady took off.
This was in the Santa Cruz Mtns. just off a ridge, over-looking Monterey Bay. Had two adjoining pastures overlooked by a bunch of trees. I'd set-up a small table, near the trees, read my book, & wait for the squirrels to pop-up. To keep the noise to a minimum, I'd only use rimfires (.17HMR & .22lr).
OK - here's my question, are there any good spots in Central California (maybe towards the coast or even the South Bay area) to shoot ground squirrels? I've see threads on places to shoot for the LA areas and another closer to Grass Valley & Auburn. Maybe Hollister or Gilroy??
This sucks - I've been shooting here for five years & have gotten spoiled.
