    Wild Sports, Orangevale

So i haven't been to Wild Sports in over a year just because of bad experiences. I was driving by and figured id stop to get a couple of things since my favorite store was closed today (Sacramento Black Rifle). I will absolutely never go back to Wild Sports again. 1. they have a limit on ammo 5 boxes/customer, 2. the place smells like vomit. 3. The customer service is horrible. I was just checking out some prices on rifles and an employee actually came up and asked if he could help me, so i asked to see a rifle... he rolls his eyes and lets out a big old sigh like he actually has to do something. He looked me up and down and said "got ID?" so i said "yes i got ID" and i handed it to him, takes forever looking at it, then sets it behind the counter then hands me the rifle. I maybe had it in my hands no more then 20 seconds and he asks "are you done?". at this point im just over dealing with them so i give the rifle back to him, he puts it away and starts to walk away. EXCUSE ME!!! My ID please.... he reply s "oh, one sec" and starts talking to another employee about some movie. so i just reached over and grabbed it and left. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!

    Sorry if im

Sounds like them on a regular basis. I only go in there if they have exactly what I need and then I'm in and out with no browsing.

I did a transfer there once....seemed OK, I wouldn't recommend it though. The only guy who seemed helpful was this bigger guy with red hair..everybody else pretty much sucked.

Someone should find out who owns the place and let them know just how bad things are there, employees like that should be let go. I would of been so pissed at that guy and he would of known about it.

Interesting, did you get a name? I know almost everyone there and overall personalities of their employees are somewhat on the mellow side but never rude like that. Sorry to here this.

I stopped going there about 10 years ago because of that type of treatment. That's been their modus operandi for years. Their sh*t don't stink and you're whale dung.

Sounds like my first time going there. I asked to see an M1A and the guy just looked at me, sighed, and finally handed it to me. Their prices suck anyway. I wont go back there again either. I think they wanted ~$1850 for an M1A standard.

I've never had a problem, but then again I only go in there for ammo. I can see how if I were to inquire about firearms that it might not be so pleasant.

something to keep in mind is that most of the business comes from the fishing side of the store...that's how they are able to sell guns at what appears to be dealer cost (advertised in their ads)

i got a Sig 220 and a S&W 1911Sc there for less than what other dealers were buying them for...yes including the internet

Yeah their firearm prices are pretty reasonable. I was looking at a Springfield Loaded Parkerized and I believe it was $800. Not too shabby.

They are home of the 4 hour transfer.

Does anyone know the owner? or know any of the employees? if so you should point them to this thread and the many other threads that talk about how horrible their customer service is. I would rather drive hours away then go to wild sports for something.

Considering the number of threads that bash them, I would suspect they already know about them. The gun community is pretty small. Since they haven't changed their ways for years, I suspect the owner is aware and they just don't give a damn.

unless it has changed hands in the recent past, the owner won the store in a divorce settlement
