Moving - best way to pack powder/primers?

My wife and I will be moving in a little less than a month. Most of our stuff is packed and ready to go, but I've held off packing our powder (both black and smokeless) and primers.

I presume that storing the powder in a cardboard box with a generous amount of paper cushioning will do, and that I should keep the primers in a separate box. Also, we're making the move ourselves, so we don't have any corporate policy to deal with, but I'm wondering if there are laws governing the transportation of powder and primers under 50 lbs. I couldn't find anything online.

Aside from keeping them in separate boxes, make sure the boxes aren't directly next to each other. If they'll be in your trunk, keep them on opposite sides of the trunk with all your other luggage in between them.

That's what I do when I drive home from Reno after stocking up on supplies.

I would put the primers in an ammo can separate from the powder. As for the powder, I would just put it in a box and pad it well with wadded paper or bubble wrap. Remember to keep them, along with your ammo, as far away from any possible heat sources as possible.
