    Slip 2000 and my toys....

Hello everyone. I have a quick question I am hoping you guys can help me out with. I bought Slip 2000 carbon remover in a big tub. I plan on just dropping barrels and bolt carrier groups in and letting them soak. My concern is that Slip 2000 is a water based solvent. Should I be worried about rust if I don't coat every nook and cranny with oil when I am done cleaning? I didn't get the EWL lube and was going to use up the rest of Hoppes lube I have. What do you guys think? Thanks for your help!!

I have the SLIP2000 system also and find it useful for cleaning the guns when they get REALLY dirty. 1000+ rounds between cleanings dirty.

I don't use it very often as I usually clean after a days shooting and most days are <1000 rounds per gun.

When I use my SLIP2000 I completely strip the gun, every last nut, bolt, spring and pin. I soak for 30 minutes or so and then give the parts a once over with a brush. Don't count on your bore coming out clean. It will be cleaner than when you put it in the tank, but not clean. After the parts come out of the tank I rinse them well with water and blow them dry with an air compressor. Then way over oil them (I hate rust) and wipe down and put away.

Don't let them soak too long, steel will rust after all.
