How long do your "gun hi's last"

Being a father of 2 tweens and having a very active lifestyle with them and the wife I find it hard to devote lets say my whole life to shooting. Between kids, dirtibkes/atv's and my dune buggy, snowboarding, camping, RC cars, Paintball, Boating you get the picture I have so little time to devote to my guns. I go through my gun phase about once a year for about 2 months or so but this time its been nearly 5 months straight where I do nothing but buy guns/parts and look at gun porn. I mean do some of you guys live like this 24-7?

I've gone so far as to launder a purchase through a friend its that bad
When you say that - i certainly you mean "launder" as a means of hiding it from the wife/kids - and not from the long arm of the law.

If you're suggesting anything illegal has taken place - i suggest you choose your words carefully in the future. This is a public forum.

That out of the way - yea, some of live like this all the time. Imagine if you didn't have all the other activities, and could focus your time/effort/money into shooting all the time. Or for some of us - It's just something that becomes a part of our regularly scheduled programming. I used to make it a point to make sure I set at least one day a week aside for shooting. Sometimes 2-3-4 days a week.

Some do. I actually enjoy trying to hunt down the parts I need for a build, more than the completed gun.

For cold months, it's camping, hiking, hunting, target shooting, and snowboarding.

For warm months, it's camping, hiking, hunting, target shooting, and riding sportbikes.

I try not to go outside when it's raining, unless I'm stuck while camping, hiking, hunting, target shooting, or riding my sportbikes.

Hilarious, I've had to launder ammo/accessory purchases for others, and they've done it for me

Yes I realized as soon as I typed so I tried to clarify it by saying (non-firearm) it was actually just a scope. I will change the wording JIK.

I didn't really start getting into shooting more until I got rid of all the desert/water toys.

I spend more time looking at accessories and reading forums more than I spend shooting. Then I get all into some new type of shooting and buy like 70% of the stuff needed then move onto some other new shooting item and never use the stuff I just bought.

We need a support group. I work nights so I wake up around 9 or 10am every day and look at gun porn and gun wish lists until I have to go back to work. Then on the weekends I go work on my boat and go shooting if I have money.

With all those toys who needs guns?

Good you are enjoying the Tweens.
When they get to be adults they'll put you on the pay no mind list. Then you have more time for the other things. YMMV.

To answer the question: A month or two.

I dnt. I get the itch more when I get on here but Im pretty set with my gun aresnal. I have good plinking guns, hunting, and self defense. It may not be a extensive high priced huge arsenal but I dont need a huge arsenal. its well rounded for any situation I may find myself in. Short of trying to attack a Armored vehicle Im set.

I've worked on a project everyday for the last 10 years. Whether it be reloading or building, I donate at least 2 hours a day. The wife does not mind because I do it when she is at work.
