Full auto M4 rate of fire vs you and me manually

Just wondering! if an M4 fires on average 600 to 800 rounds a minute in full auto.
What do you think the fastest hand in the west can produce firing an AR just using his trigger finger in semi auto.
Im thinking 2 to 3 rounds a second on average, so somwhere around 180 rounds a minute max. Has this ever been tested, by anyone here.

You should be able to get your split times down to .2 secs or so, so 5 per sec, 300/min.
If you are a really fast trigger, maybe twice as fast, but .10 is probably the min split.

Dayum! Oh man, not a good thing to show me after just stocking up on .223 (must resist this technique).

That is the best bumpfire vid on the net!! Dude reminds me of one of the Secret Service agents in "Absolute Power".

I've been thinking about buying a shot timer because I am so curious about some of my mag dump times. A couple months ago I could've sworn I was able to hit a battle sized target at 50yrds with all ten rounds in two seconds, but without a shot timer and a video cam, I'm just guessing. My technique is as stoopid as anything, I use my support hand to press the handguard down into a bag, and pull the trigger fast. So let's say it's three seconds. That's only 200 rnds a minute.

Damn that Jerry M. guy is incredible. Bump firing is cheating, just your trigger finger.

how is it cheating? The gun is not modified and he is still using his finger. Its improvising not cheating.

It takes a bit of practice to do it smoothly and consistently. However, if you perform the technique correctly, you should see results on your first few tries.

How about installing a longer trigger on your AR, similar to the ones used on paintball markers? Then you could use two fingers alternately to pull the trigger. That should produce a fairly high rate of fire, legally!

I always thought the same thing, but the amount of force needed to pull the trigger on the AR would have to be far less than 1lb. On paintball markers, the triggers you see people shooting extremely fast (10-20 balls per second) are using electronic triggers that are etremely sensitive. So unless someone creates a legal electric FCG for an AR I don't think it would be possible.

i can bump great with aks and my ar-15 with the sp1 upper but with my heavy barrel i barely get a double there is just not enough recoil

i also cant bump my 30 carbine the recoil isn't enough for my arm slack i guess

ive seen people bump a 10/22 with my stock trigger no chance i could do that

my m1a is impressive when bumped but that was back when there was lots of surplus for cheap

now at 50 cents a shot no mo bumpin that
