    440 feet?

    i was reading the Oklahoman gun laws and it is stated one can not discharge a rifle or shotgun within 440 ft of a church?? is there some magic thing about 440 feet?

    Probably some Judge in 1886 lived that far from the church and heard someone crack one off, waking him up from a drunkin stuper and it pissed him off. So he made it illegal to shoot within 440 feet of the church. And as we never delete laws from the books, in this country, it's probably been law ever since. Sounds good, huh?

          It's actually 440 cubits, or 666 feet.
