    crossroads of the west

I'm sorry if this has been asked before but I'm wondering,
Would anyone at the crossroads of the west gunshow carry semi-auto MAC-10/11

Also if someone at the gunshow did carry it, I would have to wait 10 days and go through a background check correct?

In CA, except for long guns that are over 50 years old, all firearms must be transfered through a CA FFL dealer.
A 4473/DROS (background check) will be done and the 10 day wait will apply.

you'll probably find one there...but the cheapest you'll find one is here in the classifieds....I've seen two recently in the $500 range (as long as you aren't set on new)

What's your location OP? Also, do you mean the real MAC or the MAC-clones like MPA (MasterPiece)?

Riflegear will have them in stock at the gun show:

Yes. You have to wait 10 days and go through the background check. You will also have to fill out the Federal form 4473 and submit your drivers license or ID card for a photocopy, as well as your thumb print.

            I appreciate the replies everyone.

I'll give a little background. I've been raised in anti gun household so my knowledge and experience are limited, I've only been able to have hands on experience when I was a boy scout. I live in orange county and I'm going to pick up a little something for my 21st birthday. I'm thinking used and although the MAC clones are a lot worse quality, the are probably a lot cheaper and my budget is about 450, a little lower if possible.

I assume I do all that at the gun show then give the dealer the address of my preferred FFL correct?

You will find some folks at the gun show that can do the DROS process right there, then they take the gun to their shop and you pick it up there in 10 days.
You might have to ask around, but I have done it before. Sometimes they pack on a $15 dollar charge, (or something like that) for transporting it to their shop.

I gotta ask, why that gun? for a first time handgun, why not get something simple?

Haha, something simple? There's not much that's more simple than an MPA pistol. Two pins, 3 main pieces, easy to fire and bump fire, one of the most fun things I've seen come through our shop so far.

It's just something I've always wanted since I was younger.

Well eff it then I say go for what you want, plus if you decide later you don't want it you can sell it. Be forewarned, once you buy one and take it to the range you will be looking for a second in no time.
