I am visiting family in Texas and was wondering if I can buy ammo here and ship it back to my self. Or does m dad need to buy it and send it to me? Sorry I tried s search and came up with nothing.

depending on how old you are... you have to be 21 to buy handgun ammo, and 18 to buy riffle ammo.
The argument to use if you're under 21 and need "handgun ammo" (9,40,45 etc.) is that you shoot it out of a long gun, and it my fly.
