    Exploring Open Carry

In the SF Chronicle this morning, the opinion section was on the open carry movement. There will be a discussion about the topic at the Commonwealth Club in SF. 5 30 reception and 6 pm program on May 26. Its at 595 Market street in SF. $12 bucks for members and $20 for non members. Though I might get the info out to those who may nbe interested.

I'd like to see how this would go without turning into a biased mud-slinging competition. Sadly I'm 1800 miles away.

Sometimes the law defends plunder and participates in it. Sometimes the law places the whole apparatus of judges, police, prisons and gendarmes at the service of the plunderers, and treats the victim -- when he defends himself -- as a criminal. Bastiat

Law enforcement officers are taught that guns are a dangerous and deadly threat to their safety and the safety of the public they serve. They understand that any encounter involving a gun is grave.

Really? I've open carried outside my town hall, in gun shops, stores, etc. I've walked right past LEO's and they never gave me a second glance. LEO's have "encountered" me and my loaded gun several times and the most common interaction I got was 'Hi".
