Straps and slings, is anything a slam dunk?

I need a strap/sling for my Remington 870 and my S&W MP15. They did not come with one. It's rather tough to decide based on a 1"x2" picture on a web page. I thought I'd see more at the gun show. well, I did see a lot of cheap Chinese knock-offs.

Where is a good place to go for slings and straps? Seems the retail side is a bit thin on selection.

I like my VTAC sling... Did a quick review here, http://www.santsys.com/reviews/vtac-padded-sling.aspx. Got mine from Bravo Company USA for about $40.

    I have it on my M&P 15T...

There is no "best" or "slam dunk" anything when it comes to gun accessories. You just need to try stuff out and find what works for you. How many people out there run the very exact same set up? Everything has a personal "tweak" here and there so it works for them.
There are 3 kinds of people in this world.
The wise, learn from the mistakes of others.
The smart, learn from their own mistakes.
The others, well......they just never learn.

Hmm I swore I just posted, but it didn't show up.

I'd checkout the Magpul MS2 slight. It's a 1 point that easily converts to a 2 point. It would be perfect for your AR. With the easy conversion to a 2 point it might pull double duty for your 870 as well.

Here's a short video review, and there's a bunch of other clips on youtube.

I used to use a springfield sling on my 870, but I recently discovered the M1 sling:

I find it much quicker to manipulate, I can loosen it up to sling it on my shoulder or tighten it up to use as a shooting aid much faster than using the hooks on a springfield. It's soft enough that it doesn't dig in, even through just a tshirt, but more than sturdy enough to keep my shotgun where it needs to be.

I'll be getting another one shortly for my retro AR.

Well, my "slam dunk" sling is Specter Gear's SOP sling. Have two, recommended them to friends, I think they're great. These are for AR's.

            They are also affordable, too!
