If you are painting it yourself, Duracoat. If you want someone to do it for you, PM glbtrottr, I know he did tons of research locally on the topic about a year ago. We decided to go the Duracoat route (I have a Sig 220 and an AR-15 in process) because I am REALLY picky on the level of workmanship I want and I would be pissed off if someone ruined a Sig, if I muck it up I can only blame me, if someone else muck's it I would need to get very grumpy. On the buttstock you can go with other paints as well but no matter what I would prime with DuraCoat. Keep in mind that, if you are doing fine detailing that it will no longer be a gun that you can just toss in a bag and go, it will require kid gloves. I had planned on painting *my* special AR pink and in the past year I have decided that I will end up painting a less tactical AR pink so that I don't feel guilt when I take the fully loaded AR to the desert and scratch it up.
I loathe the need to say this, The Banana is a female.

The stock and grip on my AR are pink all the way thru. If you scratch it with a rock, it's still pink under the pink. I think buying pink parts instead of painting is the best, since guns get bumped and scratched so much. It would look BAD if you could see black thru pink all over
