back in sept of 09 i sent an ar upper to have the barrel re threaded the gunsmith told me it would take a few weeks for the work to be done. I called back a few weeks later and told me still needs more time and call back in a week or so nows its may 2010 and still needs more time.. I dont know what the deal is here i understand it takes time to do other peoples work that is ahead of me but its been almost 9 months now still not completed and the job isnt complicated if i ran a business like that i would end up closing.. i now call every other week and i still get "me call back next week", finally i went there and asked for the gunsmith and they tell me hes not in today but i can clearly hear him in the back... what should i do does anybody have similar problems im getting worried about my upper and considering this situation the guy isnt very reliable in telling the truth to customers on a time frames.. situation only refers to the gunsmith only not the store itself..

I thought the work was fine, but the lack of communication was frustrating for me, too. The whole "just call me to see if its done" thing gets old after a while. They've had your upper since September! Just demand it back and have someone else do the work!back in sept of 09 i sent an ar upper to have the barrel re threaded i told me it would take a few weeks for the work to be done. I would question the abilities if anyone who is unable to manage their time that badly....even on something so simple....Comment

It's not an issue I would want to discuss in an open forum, but their is a legitimate reason why the smith has built up a backlog.( the fact that he does such a good job and is in demand does'nt help the situation.) Talk to Francisco he'll handle it. If your really pressed for time you might want to consider another shop. Brad has some of my stuff and I for one would not want anyonelse working on it. Knowing the situation I am more than happy to wait an extended period if need be, but then again I'm in no rush. EDOriginally Posted by Sic Boy
And I bet Jobs surfs porn. If he doesn't, I'll eat a live baby on stage at the next Apple event.Originally posted by AJAX22Don't F with those guys... they can probably use their teabag to inflict blunt force trauma.

"its been almost 9 months now still not completed and the job isnt complicated"
Wow, you are one patient person! The OP wants his work done in a timely fashion. I'm sure he was willing to wait, but come on!!! Threading one millimeter a day would have got it done a long time ago!!! Not acceptable!Mortal as I am, I know that I am born for a day. But when I follow at my pleasure the serried multitude of the stars in their circular course, my feet no longer touch the earth.

i always tell people to go with a smith that is well known with the work they want done.
i didn't follow my own advice and had 2 shotgun barrels cut down by ammobros smith. same deal as you strung along until i just said give them back. he then said come back tomorrow and they will be done. it's close by so i figured one more day won't kill me. the work got done and the quality was fine but not what i would have got from a real smith.
most smiths are just "parts changers". if you want high quality work go with a "famous" smith.
ar15 work goes to ar15barrels or adco...Comment

There is a guy that works there. Call and ask for Francisco. I dealt with him when I got my Saiga there and he is a pretty good guy. Call and speak to him. He should be more than willing to help you figure out what happen and why its not completed. I've always been helped there and they are a bunch of pretty good guys. Sorry to hear you had problems there.back in sept of 09 i sent an ar upper to have the barrel re threaded the gunsmith told me it would take a few weeks for the work to be done.
