    Pre-Ban A/R-15 Question?

83:- Are their ever Pre-Ban A/R 15 sales on Calguns?
    - Is it legal to purchase one and is it legal with a 30 round clip?
    - Is a pre ban A/R legal also without a bullet button?

Thanks in advance for the info.

By "preban" you mean registered assault weapons, so you can't buy one, but if you have one legally, you can use 30 round magazines without the bullet button

of course, the magazines must have been in your possession before year 2K

Pre and post ban are federal. CA has their own laws pertaining to semi auto rifles.

No, you cannot purchase 30 round mags now unless you are LE. You can purchase rebuild kits to rebuild 30 round mags you had prior to 2000.

The only AR15 style lowers you can now buy are ones NOT listed. Look at the flow chart to become more familiar with CA legal lowers.

If you mean registered, fully featured and/or named rifles, NO. Transfer is forbidden except in certain rare exceptions (mostly to an AW dealer).

If you mean ARs that have Collapsible stocks, flashhiders, pistolgrips etc, kind of. In order to have any of a list of features, a 10 round magazine must be fixed to the gun. the magazine must be "locked" in and only removable with a tool. See the "AW &OLL guide" at the top of the page (blue bar). The mag may NOT hold more then 10 rounds.

The guide also lists how one can build an AR that may use detachable magazines of greater then 10 rounds. Assuming that one had those magazines before 1/1/2000.

        the AW&OLL guide answers all.

Keep reading, do some more research.. find someone who can mentor you.. most of us here know that any reg'ed pre-2000 AW's are non-transferable, period. The mag issue has been covered over and over, and most of us know that only OLL's need bullet buttons. Not raggin' on you but these are basic topics that you should know if you have browsed all the educational info here on CG already.
