Did someone donated 3 AR15 to Menteca PD??...

MANTECA - The city's Police Department has received a donation of three new AR-15 rifles from a local citizen who wished not to be identified or publicly acknowledged for the gift. The Manteca City Council is expected to formally receive the donation at its next council meeting on Monday.

According to Police Chief Charlie Halford, the rifles were purchased through a gun dealer and delivered directly to the department. AR-15 rifles are the civilian version of the standard U.S. military rifle and are used by members of the Manteca SWAT team and other officers who have been authorized and trained. Halford said the department does not have enough AR-15s to deploy in each patrol vehicle, and this donation will help the department get closer to that goal.

I hope its not one of those sealed up mag weld..

maybe they should have the welded magwell version since they will have what the serfs of this state are allowed to own.

Manteca PD? I thought they have hi-capacity slingshots?

Alright which one of you guys is it? I sure hope that they gave them the Calguns info, too.

Good freaking GOD that would be HYSTERICAL! I think we need to pool our money and donate some new POS Vulcan or some other cheap@$$ Calilegal version of an "AR15" to a local department. Or maybe a Bushmaster Carbon15 top loader so the name doesn't throw the PD off. Have a big ceremony with the local news...present the rifle...and then laugh ourselves silly.

You used bad grammar; it should be "Did Someone DONATE 3 AR15's to THE Menteca PD?"

                Grammar Nazi out.

I know the perfect rifle. A local store has a real POS used Colt A2 Upper on an even worse used DPMS single shot lower. The elevation knob was a bit mushy and stopped at 8/3, the finish is about gone, it's missing the spring and detent for the takedown pin as well as the buffer retainer and spring. The bore looked okay though.

I wonder if this was a charge/bust we didn't hear about.

Since gun seizures often have mandated destruction, maybe both sides turned lemons into lemonade?

That doesn't sound like a seizure.

Wasn't that long ago that the military was surplusing M16s and giving them to local PDs to be issued.

                              Someone should donate AK47s

If I ever become a LEO... I'd want a SAIGA or AK... that way I wouldn't ever have to worry about jams... or you know... cleaning.
