Dasani is italian for tap-water

Dasani (Coca Cola) had to be withdrawn in the UK in 2004, when UK authorities found a concentration of bromate, a suspected human carcinogen, introduced into the water during the manufacturing process. It also was revealed that Dasani water turned out to be treated tap water from the mains. What Coca Cola described as its "highly sophisticated purification process", based on NASA spacecraft technology, was in fact reverse osmosis used in many domestic water purification units.

Coca Cola has permanently canceled plans to launch Dasani in Europe as a result of all the bad publicity.

In the US, Dasani is also sourced from tap water and treated in a similar reverse osmosis process. That is why you will never catch me drinking the stuff.

It is tap water but you pay 20,000 times more for it because it comes in a plastic bottle with an exotic (invented) name on it.
