SKS NOT ASSAULT RIFLE SAYS LAPD

I WENT TO GUN BUYBACK IN MISSION HILLS YESTYERDAY WITH SKS WITH BAYONET AND DETACHABLE 30 ROUND MAGAZINE AND WAS TOLD IT WAS NOT ASSAULT RIFLE AND ONLY GIVEN $100 GIFT CARDS FOR IT. I'LL BET IF I WAS CAUGHT WITH IT BY LEO IT WOULD BE. I THINK I GOT GIPPED BY OFFICER WHO DOESN'T KNOW THE LAW.

It would have cost you $20 to put an OEM mag on it. Then, you could have sold it for $300-$600 CASH. BTW, a stock Yugo 59/66 (often refered to as a "SKS") is not an AW if it has a 30 round detachable magazine and no evil features. Are you positive that your rifle was an AW? Or, could the officer have actually known more than you do? Based on the fact that you took a +$300 rifle to get $100-$200 for it, I'm willing to bet that the officer knew what you had.

                Gun Buyback = Anti

You should be complaining on the Rosie O'Donnell forum. Loss of a perfectly good SKS.

I already have a vintage Russian SKS with bayonet. Bought it in the 1990's for about $200.00. I wouldnt mind having another to keep the first SKS company. Anyone who wants to let me have theirs for $100.00, please PM me before going to someone who intends on making it into 5,000 paperclips.

Was it a Norinco SKS model D ? That version can accept AK-47 magazines and classified as an assault weapon in CA.
