Turners low balls the owners and then asks twice as much. Your best bet is to sit outside waiting for people with guns to walk up and offer to buy them before they get inside! I missed out on some little S&W 9mm semi auto once. I over heard the guy behind the counter tell him they will give $150 for it. I went in two weeks later and saw the gun in the display case for around $350!

Not trying to bad mouth Turners or anything, I know we have a member here that works at one and trys to help us out when he can. Turner's does have to make money too you know!

There are deals to be had but few and far between and you better be quick before someone who works there calls their friend. You can't blame them for wanting to make a buck but some of those guns tend tpo sit for a LONG time.

Pricing is haphazard too. One I visited had a stainless P89 for $325, a Taurus PT99 in nickle for $400 and a real Beretta for $500. People are weird too, it wasn't on the online gun rack but they also had a ok shape Mossberg 500 for $100 and it took a while to sell. I thought that was a pretty good deal.

If it is consignment , then the store gets a percentage and the owner asks for what he want and the store will add on their mark up.

If the buyer is unrealistic, he won't absorb the consignment. I've only seen one great deal on a $170 buckmark and a m1 carbine for $400. had I known about the legalities of face to face on 50 year old long guns, I'd have offered 3 bills when I saw that guy.

I got a Buckmark for $185. Thinking you are easily going to find a good deal on a used firearm at Turners w/o putting in work is unrealistic though.

Turners gets a percentage of the sale, the owner has say on the price. Redondo Beach store has a nice S&W 659 for 300.00 if interested. Many of the guns are not on the list. I just picked up a nice S&W 25-3, the thing looks new.

There are some great deals if you keep looking.

I saw the 659 too, if it was a 639 I probably would have got it. The 659 has no mags I believe. What did you have to give for the 25-3, is'nt that the 125th anniversary 45lc version?

I saw the S&W 125th Ann. in presentation case when the seller brought it in Saturday, I think it was in 45acp, not a bad price.

The guy also brought in what looked like a non-factory nickeled or chromed Colt '03 pocket and a Derringer, maybe a Remington 41 two barrel.

Came back later and the Derringer never made it into the case, maybe Turners couldn't take it because of its size.

I would've bought the Colt if it were original and not redone.

The 25-3 was marked as a 45ACP on the tag, but it really looked like a 45 Colt. Were these made in 45ACP?

Didn't really know the caliber, I was just going by what the Turners tag said, but I see that the Blue Book says 45LC. I didn't handle it Stevie, did it look like it had been fired? Chris

If it is indeed the 125th commemorative it is in 45lc.

I did not se any carbon on the cylinder or forcing cone. If fired, then very little.

I've seen a Luger for sale, dissasembled, cold reblued (ykes!) with quite a few parts missing and a pair of cheap aftermarket grips. Asking price: $1,500.
You can get an "excellent" condition, all original Luger for that price. No wonder that POS consingnment gun is collecting dust...I guess the seller "is not in a hurry".
