According to my friend in the marines, you can rent 240's at ranges in AZ. Since I started with guns, I've wanted to get my hands on one and let it rip. So is it true that I can rent one, or just military hub-bub?

Yes, there are places in other states where you can rent a M240 and if you live in a state that is MG friendly & you have lots of money, you can legally own a M240.
The M240 is an updated version of the FN MAG.
