    PPT, not "face to face"?

Okay, I admit I didn't use the search function. I'm not even sure what to search for??? Anyway, how can a handgun (not on the roster) be sold within California involving a sending and receiving FFL? Can it even be done?

That's a no as far as I know.
I move slow but I make up for it by shooting poorly.

When I hit the lotto I'm only shooting factory.

Not sure if this is a split PPT but this happened to me.

I purchased a used gun from a store a few months ago. When I got the final paperwork, it included the sellers name, address, drivers license#, etc.

I asked them if they gave me the wrong paperwork and was told this:

It was a consignment gun which effectively makes it a PPT. Had the seller sold it to the shop, it would have been treated as a regular sale and no seller information would have been disclosed.

Is this correct, if so I don't think I will do any consignment sales if all my personal information is given to someone I haven't seen.

Inter-familial transfer or sale to a LEO are the only ways I know of.
My friends and family disavow all knowledge of my existence, let alone my opinions.

Dealer is required to redact personal information:

12076(b)(4) If requested, a copy of the record of electronic or telephonic transfer shall be provided to the purchaser by the dealer.
            (5) If the transaction is a private party transfer conducted pursuant to Section 12082, a copy shall be provided to the seller or purchaser by the dealer, upon request. The dealer shall redact all of the purchaser's personal information, as required pursuant to paragraph (1) of subdivision (b) and paragraph (1) of subdivision (c) of Section 12077, from the seller's copy, and the seller's personal information from the purchaser's copy.

I know this digression is OT, but here goes: If that dealer didn't redact the seller's information, I'll bet he didn't redact yours either.

                /OT

BTW: what you did was not a split PPT. It was a consignmnet sale as a PPT.
