    Lincoln range to shut down

One of our customers who is a member at the Lincoln range said this today. Apparently a large plot of land next to the range was purchased by a developer who is planning a housing developement for it.

Probably a few years off though. Once the homes are built, people move in, and start complaining about the usual BS about the range being too close to the homes.

I like to do that. Move next to a stockyard, and then complain about the smell.

Typical expansion..... people move next to an airport, complain about the noise then want the airport shut down. Sorry to hear the BAD news.
Maybe someone should contact the developer and suggest a housing track that only caters to SHOOTERS.....

That's a very busy range, closing it would not be wise. Up here in the far north (Redding) BLM closed numerous public shooting ranges and the end result was an increase in cattle and private property shootings.

Its open to the public most weekends, ive shot their a couple times and its an alright place too shoot. I have been in awhile since the range on base allows center fire rifle on the weekend. I dont see why they would be buying more property when they arent developing the land they already have.

I work for a developer who buys land all of the time and sits on it. He plans on 15 years ahead before he develops on the property, that way he stays completive on home prices

Give Lincoln Rifle Club A Break...

There goes another one. Citizens of the Sacramento Area are losing their oldest shooting facilities to the expanding greed of expansion from developers. This is just another example why We must keep Our Rights and Property to Bear Arms. This Property was Donated to the Club by the DILLON Family Group and it has adjacent property that is aso(friggin) Usless to a developer its built on a Clay Pit. The Clay has been used to make Brick Tile and other building Products since the 30's... I used to Belong to the Club until and it was Run Efficiently enough to keep shooters civilian & LEO active with its location and management. Around 2002 A few new members who joined began to stir the club management up with a lot of Political BS thats when I decided to leave... they wanted to get the current club volunteers to work to their tunes and cause many other schedules to rearrange to fit their adjenda.. Unfortunately we as members of any Club are not sure if these type of idiots have the wearwithall to leave a good thing alone when they see that (the general membership are functioning and reaching their set objectives without their IDIOTIC changes) I would love to see these people go find a hole in the ground and leap into it, never to be heard from again. the Range was established to help the citizens of south Placer County to provide a facility where shooting would help the Boy Scouts of America, Volunteer Militia , and Law enforcement produce fellowship and proficiency... Well as we see the wave of the future coming... look far out to the horizon and find us a safe place to use for our Ranges... Some persons who have large parcels of property can be instrumental and with the right arrange ment with a club begin to help regain some of these Valuable places called Shooting Ranges.. Our Hats are Off to the Lincoln Rifle Club ..
Lets call this progress... BS a kick between the Cheeks
