I used Gun Safe on my last computer. I still haven't put it on my new laptop. It doesn't do much more than a spread sheet application, for my needs. It may be more useful if you buy and sell a lot of guns, and want to keep track of guns you've owned in the past. I think a simple Word document with attached photos is what I'll do the next time around.

Gun inventory software - I wish I owned that many to even consider needing one. Usually I just look in the safe. If its still there, then that's good enough for me

I just keep track of my guns in a small spreadsheet. I keep make, model, serial #, date of purchase, price, and where I bought it. Can't imagine paying for a special app for this unless I was buying guns on a weekly basis (wouldn't that be nice!).

+1 on the Gun Safe program, has all the options that you would need.

All I do is take pictures of each gun and it's serial number then in the description of the image I put the type of gun and serial number

I had a pretty good MS Word document that I had for each firearm. Serial number, date-place-rounds fired, pictures, accessories, etc.

Of course when I had to buy a new laptop about two years ago, it didn't coke with MS word installed like all my others. So I can't use my word documents anymore.

I have a copy of "LEE Shooter" I bought for other reasons but it also has a log for my guns. List type, caliber, serial #'s, date of purchase, value and a spot for notes.

Just use MS excel spreadsheet and input all the fields that you need. I make a new worksheet for every gun that I own with model/serial number/DOP/price etc. And a separate one for all the ammo/accessories that I buy and/or sell. Also easy to track how much I've been spending on this hobby.....which is not a pretty sight!!
