    Kimber Extractor Problem....

I have to compliment Kimber customer service.

I had a 2 year old Custom Eclipse II, with an external extractor; I have been experiencing extractor problems. (1 or 2 type III malfunction per box of ammo)

I test fired it last night, no malfunctions, but it seems to shoot better than it did before I sent it back.

Good to know. I have a two year old TLE II that had problems from day one. After three returns for warranty repair they seemed to get it to finally function for me - they never claimed it had problems when they fired it .

I noted that it seemed to only work well when it was VERY clean and with factory ammo. After one or two boxes of reload ammo it would start to act up with until cleaned. Factory ammo seems to burn cleaner so it would tend to work longer. Good to know if I send back they may replace with their "current" slide.
The only thing that is worse than an idiot, is someone who argues with one.

If you knew that, you should of sent it to them dirty. That is what a SA customer rep recommended to my friend who experienced problems after the first 50+ rds in his P220. To shoot the firearm til it malfunctions, and ship as is.

Good point. However, if they new I was shooting reloads, they would not give me the time of day. Even though my reloads have worked flawlessly in a Colt for 20 years. I did inform them the final time that it would not function at all with PMC, (though, I did not tell them it was 20-year old ammo). There response was they never use PMC as it was not up to spec as far as power They also crabbed that it had too much oil in it. I admit that I lubbed the crap out of the 3rd time as I figured the stoppages ment more oil. I also tend to really coat em prior to safe storage due to corrosion issues but thats another story.
