    AK RUST NEED HELP

I just brought home a romy g that I bought from a local store and they said it came wih a black oxide finish on it. well I took it out of the safe today to shoot for the first time and there are several rust spots coming through. Is this common, or was it a poor job on the finish?

If it is common what can I do? rub oil into it?

Normal, the entire surface needs to be oiled.

Perfectly normal. Some people also have oil in their skin that is more acidic to metal. Corrosive primer residue will cause rust also.

Clean and oil your gun. If you get lots of surface rust, duracoat your AK. If you want to go cheap can use krylon flat black......I use Krylon on my AK all the time for touch ups.
