    Need help with oll transfer

Hi, I've been lurking here for quite awhile, reading up on the off list receiver situation, and I finally decided to buy an OLL. My only problem is that I don't know how to arrange the transfer. I looked at the list of FFLs on coldwarshooters, but they only listed Sacramento, not an address of an FFL. Besides that, I'm not exactly sure how to go about arranging the transfer. I'm assuming I need to contact the FFL I want to do the transfer through before ordering the receiver. I also have noticed in other threads about asking FFLs that most people ask for someone to PM the FFL, I guess that most FFLs that do lower transfers want to remain anonymous.

    Sleepy,

If you call or email CWS or others, they can help you with the transfer FFLs and the protocol.

It's kinda "not polite" to post an FFL's info on the net if they do OLL and they want to remain "below the radar". And some FFL's are really cool, they helped the whole OLL thing get off the ground when the DOJ was huffing and puffing in the beginning. Basically the cool FFL's believed what was said here rather than what was told to people by certian agents in the field. We now know who was right and who was wrong. Thanx NRA and crew

What is funny is the Sacramento FFL is retired DOJ, that's really got to piss off Iggy and Allison.

There's a pretty good list provided at Ranier Arms:
Rainier Arms specializes in high-end AR15 parts and accessories—including grips, stocks, uppers, lowers, barrels, and more—from the industry's top-tier manufacturers.

Also, give a call to Chris at LanWorldInc.com. He can hook you up with a great price on several different OLLs ... and provide you the names of some good FFL-transfer dealers in your area.

OLL transfers are the same as any other "gun" you want to buy. The seller needs to have a copy of the FFL of the transfer dealer (where you're located) that you're going use to take possession of the OLL through.

          1) Figure out what dealer (seller) you're going to buy the OLL from *cough* Chris *cough*
          2) Figure out what FFL (transferer) is closest to you (ask what they charge for DROS and transfer fees - these can vary wildly).
          3) Contact the seller, see if they've got the transferer's FFL on file. If not, call the transferer and have them fax a copy to the seller.
          4) Once the seller has the transferer's FFL ... and some of you're money ... they can ship the OLL to the transferer.
          5) The rest is standard protocol for buying a firearm in CA.
