    Welcome to calguns

I'm sorry; I don't completely understand your question.
Are you looking for a members only type of place that doesn't allow anyone else? Or, just a range to join; they all pretty much have some kind of membership you can join for discounts etc.

    Outdoor? Indoor?

I've heard of a range in OC out in Black Star Canyon that might be private or a family only, just a rumor. That's the only one I've heard of in these parts. Others may know more.

Before I moved to the Pismo Beach area, 10 years ago, I belonged to this group:
      Lake Elsinore Sportsmen's Association
      Contact Mike Kirley (714) 528-1384

I really enjoyed this group. Ten years ago they lost there land to urban sprawl, but when I moved they were looking for a new piece of property.

There are several ranges where if you pay to join, you can use their facilities for free the rest of the year. Most are indoors and limit you on what kind of shooting you can do (and how fast), I find those worthless for my own types of shooting.
The best range that fits my needs is Rahaugees in norco, but it's just outdoor dirt berms and you need to bring everything you'll want. They don't have food, or amo, or targets or such.

Tell us what you want out of a range, and where you are (LA + OC is a big chunk of land).

I am looking for a members only type range where I can shoot a built up .223
There are some indoor ranges here in my county, but i am looking for something a little more low key

I live in Irvine (OC), but would be willing to drive to LA

          Thanks

Sharpshooter in Torrance, only pistol calibers and shotguns.
LAX firing range off Manchester/405 ok for 223 and 308 with their frang.
            Insight?

I know the burbank gun club has a private range, but I think you have to know a member to join. I have wanted to join for a while, but I'm not sure how.

Westend Gun Club. From what I understand, once you're a member you can shoot 24/7. There use to be a member here that belonged to that club...a female. She was real nice and helpful but I haven't seen here post on here for at least a year. Now that I think about it...there's been quite a few good people who no longer post here.

That's pretty far drive from Irvine, 15/Sierra exit.

                  Skunk:
What required distances are you looking for since you indicated shooting .223 ?
Most urban or suburban shooting ranges are inddors and very short range.
You will probubly have to drive to San Berdoo for 100 yard+ ranges where you don't have to stand in a stall to slow fire.

Come ong guys, there's really only one place that'll match his description:

                    Burro Canyon

It's not a private 'exclusive" club but true membership is limited. But it is about the only place with true PRIVATE ranges where you are the only person on that range, secluded and away from everyone else. If you want to know what it's all about join one of the ARFCOM meets, we always have a private range. until you experience a private range at Burro you don't know what privacy truly is.

Whle burro is great, a private range it is not. You still have the ATV guys driving around and occasionally annoying you, and last time I was there someone decided to detonate a pound of tannerite on the next range over with no warning.

I frequently rent a "private" range at Burro and shoot naked. No one bothers me. I'd say that it does qualify as "private."

Idealy, I desire something close to Irvine (~30Min).
However, my shooting buddy lives in Santa Monica and we often roll up to oak tree or Angeles. With that said, something ~30 min from Santa Monica would be good as well.

The orange Curtain really does not have any good ranges. I sometimes go to On target, but its straight up costraphobic and the leos often rent out half the range.

Basically, I am looking for a mellow place where I can shoot a .223 fixed mag OLL, preferably a membersip/private range only.

                              Thanks
