I saw this mentioned on another thread, and as one of the calguns M.D.'s I think its my responsibility to say something on it.
I checked my level 6 months back and was at the upper level of normal..translation, pretty damn high. I have since instituted a policy for myself of wearing a n95 respirator medical mask when I shoot, at least @ the indoor range...there is alot of lead backblow, especially if you shoot exposed lead. For those of you who reload, I'd recommend gloving and masking as well during all reloading, there is lead in primers even if you don't load exposed lead. If you've been shooting for awhile, go to your doctor and check a lead level. Lead toxicity can be serious, causing GI problems (including perforation of bowel) as well as neurological problems which may not be reversible...these are even more serious for children, so you want to be sure you are always clean (wash hands w/ D-lead) before you touch your kids or anything your kids will touch. If you have questions, please feel free to PM me.
