If you want to keep a shot gun for HD then get a mossy and not cry when they take it for evidence. the Benelli is nice but does not fit your life style now so sell it and use the money on something you will use.

I would sell the shotty. You're right in that the Glock would be sufficient for HD, and in my opinion even preferable to the Benelli because it's much more wieldy. I read somewhere that, statistically speaking, most HD conflicts occur within 3-5 yards of the defender and personally I'd rather have something more compact than a shotgun for just such an instance.

As far as you're next gun is concerned; I just did the same thing. I sold my 30'06--that I loved but wasn't getting enough use--and picked up a .22 (gsg-5). I use it much more often because I don't have to worry about my wallet every time I pull the trigger and I'm glad I made the trade.

if you do sell the Shotgun i would go for a 22lr upper receiver. that way you have the ability to get a standard 5.56 upper for little further range.
