    Beginner looking for some guidance.

Hey guys i'm new to buying a gun online and having it shipped to a Store. I'm on a budget so I'm looking for a Savage Arms Edge in .223 with a scope. I tried to look for a used one but no luck so I'm just gonna get a new one, unless someone knows someone that knows someone?

Any help with the following questions would be greatly appreciated.

    1. What exactly do i need to do?

    2. I've been doing some 'google' shopping and found the best price at BudsGunShop.com. Any opinions? They offer the Edge for $300 Shipped.

    3. I think I Found a store to get it shipped to. Entreprise Arms in Irwindale (i looked at Calgun's FFL List and this is the best choice atm). http://www.entreprise.com/ They're really close and they only charge $35 + DROS for shipments! Does anyone have any store feedback they can help me with?

    4. Do stores charge sales tax on shipments? Example: $300 for BudsGunShop + $55 S&H and DROS Fee for Entreprise Arms + Sales Tax?

Any Help would be awesome. Thanks!

    In my opinion...

Bud's is just fine. I've bought twice from them in the last 9 months and I'm satisfied.

First call the store, verify fees and let them know what you're doing.

Then pay Bud's and give them your FFL's info.

    Wait.

Do the DROS when it comes in, pick it up when the times up.

Don't know So Cal gun shops.

The State says that the shops have to collect sales tax on the gun purchase but many don't and seem to get away with it. Some do collect tax. Ask.

They're not supposed to collect tax on the fees.

It's smart to ask the shop if they can get the gun you're after. If they sell it to you direct you can save shipping and transfer fee.

Once a gun shop charged me a lower fee for a transfer after they weren't able to order the gun I was looking for and I found it online. Doesn't hurt to ask.

$35 for the transfer sounds like a good price. Ammo Bros in Cerritos charges $50 + DROS.

To the OP - if you have a friend or someone who has done this before around you, you may want to get his / her guidance as you walk through these steps. I think many of us on CG have done exactly what you've outlined before, but having someone there with you to watch over your steps wouldn't hurt. Anyone local who could be your mentor in this process?
