    NFA Weapon Stolen

Read the article and then make your own opinion on this guy.... Seems like a perfect poster boy for the anti crowd with his comments

"It's for killing enemy personnel. The bigger the boom, the bigger the wound,"
He says it can shoot through homes, cars and up to 850 bullets in a minute.

"He came home and found his back door kicked in and had a gun safe that had been pried open," said Lucas County Detective Mark Woodruff.
I wonder what kind of gun safe this fella was using.

Any safe that can be "pried open" is not a safe but a lock box.

Yep, a $30,000 weapon in a lock box.

Detectives say thieves stole two high-powered automatic weapons that were meant for war and can cause a lot of destruction, reports News 11's Lisa Rantala.
That is one of the funniest sentences I have ever read.

I have a hunch it wasn't really much of a safe, just one of those glass front display cases:

At 2 a.m. Tuesday, he noticed the guns were gone. His apartment and trophy case had both been broken into.
The detective made a statement that his gun safe had been pried open, which can be taken to be conflicting with the 'trophy case' statement. I know back in TN, folks tended to store their rifles in glass-front display cases, which provided no real theft protection.

That's what I'm saying. You got that much invested in some serious firepower why the heck would you use a wimpy lock box. Pop down some cash and get a quality gun safe (Browning, Fort Knox..etc.)

I think he wanted to show them off, which I can understand, but when you leave you should lock them in a real safe. Every morning I lock up the (big) guns I keep out when I'm home, and every day when I get home I take them out again. It's a chore, but better than having them stolen and in the hands of some gangbanger.

Hmmm..maybe that was his biggest mistake..I'd say these days it's best not to let too many folks know you have a collection of firepower. Just think..you show it off to your friends but that intel might end up being heard by the wrong people. All it takes is a slip of the tongue.

Thats why I keep Staphshires Terriers as pets. They are great deterents for people considering b&e.
Mayor Adrian M. Fenty (D) announced. The risk here is that an appeal could lead to an unfavorable Supreme Court ruling, and a legal principle that now applies only to the residents of the nation's capital would extend to the entire nation

Try more like $75,000 or more.

...M-60 was a prize in his collection.
He says it can shoot through homes, cars and up to 850 bullets in a minute.
It's an M60, not an M2HB. Last time I checked (and fired one) an M60 chambered belt-fed .308 (7.62X51 NATO).
