    weird ammo

Found these two weird bullets in a box from 30-06 I got from a calgunner. Looks to be russian ammo. Copper looking case and the bullet tip is silver with a yellow band. I don't have anything that shoots that ammo.
What is the ammo. Im just gonna break it up dump the powder and pop the primers

AP/Incendiary? What's the headstamp? We are talking about '06 and not 54r, right?

On the headstamp there are two # 21 and the other is either 73 or 23 looks more like a 73. Sorry for the not so great pics. i took them with my i phone cause the wife packed up the camera. Ammo is NOT 30-06 ammo. Looks like 7.62x54 russian? I wonder if i can get a refund on two bullets LOL.

That is most likely Hungarian steel core heavy ball from 1973. It has a good reputation for accuracy in Mosin-Nagants.

Thought the OP meant it was '06 ammo!

I think most comm-bloc countries used green tip to designate tracer.

I'm in your town, I would let you shoot them through my Mosin if you would like. That way your not out the cost of two bullets LOL.

Definitely 7.62x54r. I'm in your area but probably not worth it to drive out for two cartridges. >.>

Wait, why don't YOU have a Mosin Nagant? Think of this as an opportunity to buy one for yourself and get a kick out of the old battle rifle.
