Sorry if this sounds retarted but are the " grains measure of weight " the same for bullets as with powder. For instance, if you have a digital powder scale, would a 230 grain ( .45 ) be weighed as 230 grains on the scale?

Yes, grain does not change. I normally check my .224 bullets on the powder scale to sort them by 55.0, 54.9, 55.1, etcLast edited by Noobert; 04-20-2010, 9:22 PM.(\__/)

Yes, Grain is an international measurement of mass: 1 Grain = 64.79891 milligrams.
So, 230 grain = 14.9037493 grams.Last edited by bigthaiboy; 04-21-2010, 12:39 AM.

Or 1 lb. = 7,000 grains.
I learned this when figuring out absolute humidity for an old boss. It's amazing how hard you can work to find all that info and then it gets tossed out the window as unimportant because, like was said before the work started, "No one in racing uses absolute humidity..."
But that's another story all together.
To reiterate, grains are a measure of weight. They do not change from one medium to another.Comment
