Gun registration?

If I build an AK romy from parts kit and bend my own flat do I have to register this weapon if I DON'T sell it? I realize that if in the future I decide to sell something I built as a hobby I must go through a FFL.I would assume that all the matching numbers on trunnion,gas port, bolt and bolt carrier,etc would constitute the serial number that would have to be inscribed on the receiver. Any knowledgeable reply would be appreciated.Thanks,G.W.

Long guns are not registered in CA

From the CA DOJ
"There is no firearm registration requirement in California except for assault weapon owners and personal handgun importers. However, you may submit a Firearm Ownership Record to the DOJ for any firearm you own. Having a Firearm Ownership Record on file with the DOJ may help in the return of your firearm if it is lost or stolen. With very few and specific exceptions, all firearm transactions must be conducted through a firearms dealer."

They don't need to be registered...yet

I haven't put any marking on it and there is no legal requirement to "register" it either. If I had the least bit of doubt about this, I sure would not have posted about it here. No home built firearm needs to be registered in Ca.
