Congrats on the on both new events. Just make sure the possible wife knows you are now a proud gun owner and will probably start collecting even more. She should know up front and/or I'd hold off on the engagement ring till you find out she'll be alright with your new addiction.

My first was a glock 22, but man I still wish I had gotten that 19. Great choice man

Good purchase. The G19 will last forever and do everything it's designed for.

I highly recommend professional training. I didn't think I'd need it, since I'd been shooting for 20+ years, but the first good course I took (FIGHTING PISTOL by Tactical Response) made me feel I'd wasted every bullet shot before I took it.

Thanks everyone! Can't wait to get it in my hands and take it to the range. Gonna have to hit the search bar about breaking in pistols next

Hahaha... it has been a long topic of discussion, I've finally won her over to correct side. It also helped that out of nowhere, her dad took her and her brother to the gun range. Since she's a bit of a daddy's girl, her dad can sway her opinion a lot quicker than I can I swear I didn't pull her dad aside or anything, he just did it, which is awesome.

Now I'm going to tack on a drive to Reno for cheap ammo whenever I go to Tahoe

Just shoot it, no need to break it in. Just clean and lightly lube it.
