    Glock 21 generation?

I am actively searching w/ the search feature but haven't found it yet. But how can I determine which generation my Glock 21 is?

    Thanks guys.

1st gens are pretty rare, they are usually identified by having a lightly stipled finish all around the grip, no checkering at the front or back strap. (No accesory rail)

Otherwise, as a general rule of thumb:
Finger grooves and accessory rail: 3rd gen
No finger grooves, no accessory rail: 2nd gen

Sounds like I have a 2nd generation. Here are a few bad pics.

        Was there actually a 1st gen Model 21? I thought they only made a 2nd and 3rd...

I just found this site that lists the three generations.

          I am sure mine is a 2nd.

            Thanks.

I am correct. There is no such thing as a Gen 1 Glock 21

The only Glocks that came with generation 1 frames were models 17, 17L, 18, and a small number of G19's.

              Oh. Well then thank you.

Is there a huge difference in the 2nd and 3rd generations then?

I'll go see if I can figure it out.

grip and rail is the big difference between generation 2 and 3

You are right Xeno. So technically his Glock 21 is the first of its kind so it is a Gen 1 for G21.....I'm not making any sense here, am I?
