    Sac Valley Shooting Range!!!

Fingally made it to Sac Valley range and all I can say is WOW!!! Must be the best range of all CA. I wish they had a similar setup in the Bay area. Got to try my Grendel and my JP at 300 yards and was able to shoot 1.86" 5 shot groups with my Grendel (120 SMK). 1.48" with my JP (77 grains SMK).

Very friendly shooters out there in Sac. Made three new friends who are not on Calguns but heard of the whole OLL craze and they were pleased about people being able to own an AR after the ban. The interesting part about the two individuals, both were LEOs..... They of course had registered ARs: SR15 and a Colt Sporter.

Can't wait to try the silhouette range!!!

    I agree thmpr!
I've lived in the Sac area for a few years now and get out to the Sac shooting center a few times a month. It truely is a deluxe range. There is a place for almost every shooting dicipline there is. There's even a target for bow and arrow shooting by the shotgun range. The silouette range is cool but for me it is harder than it looks. But it sure is fun. I've never had so much fun missing the targets.
Maybe I'll see you out there.

Glad you liked it. I shoot up there with some regularity, and shoot the monthly tactical match as well. It really is a great range and a lot of good guys shoot there. Hopefully we'll see you up there sometime.

Yeah, I need to get up there as well. Going to Cordova Shooting Center on the weekends is like begging to be shot by an idiot.

I'm with you. I met a SASS guy that shoots out there. It sounds like it's well worth the drive.

I shoot a Cordova for quickies but since I started shooting IPSC matches at Sac Valley I find myself shooting my long guns there too. It is really nice place to shoot.

Cordova recently upped their price to $15 which does not help either.

I try to support them though because with all of those houses being built out there I think their days are numbered.

Went to that shooting range a few weeks ago. Took my son with me we had a good time Meet some friendly people let their kids have at it with my Henry mini bolt they had a blast. One word of caution if you have a car don’t go from Dillard rd, it's dirt with some big ponds in the middle of the road at places

According to their website: $100/year + NRA Membership (if you aren't one already). If you're a Senior, you get a discounted Membership rate.
If you go shooting enough, you will actually pay for your membership fairly quickly, compared to paying the non-member rates.

Don't forget that there is a practice for the tactical match the Saturday prior to each match. It'a good time to come out and get your dope for long distance shooting, as well as working on wind doping.

This Saturday you can come out and refine your long distance dope, pracitce wind reading, learn to work the target pit and meet some great guys.

Pay at the rangemaster's office and drive up the hill, around the back side of the 1000 yard range and down to the pits. Be there at 8 am.

I went to Cordova today as I just had a short amount of time. Man, I'm ready to get up to Sac Valley. Cordova's gettin' old quick.
