If you purchase a gun out of state from an auction and have it shipped to california does the dealer have to charge you sales tax on the purchase price?

you don't pay sales tax on a used car from a dealer? the answer is the dealer is supposed to collect a tax if it goes threw them unless its a ppt.

My ffl's have never charged me tax on a out of state used gun that was shipped to them. Maybe I got lucky? I would ask your ffl if I where you.

If the FFL doesn't charge tax, you are supposed to declare it on your CA tax return.

It's never been enforced, but CA is hurting bigtime and I would not be surprised to see audits in the future.

its been talked about alot lately and more and more dealers are collecting tax now,most never did until now.
