I hit up the Knob Creek machine gun shootout yesterday and I have mixed feelings about it. It's by far the biggest machine gun/class 3 sales/show event I have ever seen and if I never had to come back to commi kalifornia, I would have bought a lot of stuff which sucks for me but at least I know these types of weapons can be had legally in this country still! The gun shoot itself took a while, I sat (actually I stood there and my legs were aching at the end of the night as I walked around and was there since the morning) from 5pm-10pm and they had 3-30min rounds due to a fire on the mountain side from .50cal bmg tracer fire and there was only one real night shoot when it was dark. All the standing around sucked but at least I got a great spot in the front of the crowd which seem like there were way too many people squished in to that little area. It seem like everyone there also either smoked ciggys or cigars which started to get a bit irritating considering I had a hard time breathing and it was an outdoor event which was highly odd. Once the shooting started though it was great. I have gone to the california bear's club belt fed events (great meetup group) but you can only have chains of like 10 rounds in Cali while the guys here in kentucky had cans full of ammo which they would swap out on a dime and keep on shooting. They had tannerite strapped to 55gallon barrels full of gas and when they said go, even though the barrels were out there, you could feel the heat and the shockwave hit you in the face and body and sorta push you back a bit which was awesome. Most guys had a few full auto rifles, a lot had 1919a and some had full auto .50cal bmg with tracers. There was even a guy with a GE minigun and when that thing went off, holy crap man, shread city! All in all, the event was some what worth it although I though there would be more shooting and less standing around. It seems like a better show on youtube if you wanna see guns and stuff but you dont get the feeling of the heat and blast when stuff blows up.
P.S. I have never seen so many backwater hillbillies before in my life but everyone was very friendly and nice.
