3 Gun Match at the El dorado gun Club

This range only goes to 100 yards on the rifle side so there are no real long rifle shots. We did one once before and it was fun. The club is NOT affliated with any national org (except the NRA and CMP) so are rules are somewhat looser. If you're interested contact the man listed below and he can put you on the email list. There is also an IDPA TYPE match the 3rd saturday of the month.

FYI, the range is located about 30 minutes EAST of Sacramento. For directions: http://www.eldoradorodandgun.com/

The EL DORADO ROD and GUN CLUB will be hosting a FUN THREE-GUN SHOOT at the EDR&GC range on SATURDAY APRIL 30, 2005

Go to www.eldoradorodandgun.com for map - directions.

John L. Lustig: Match Director / Range Safety Officer

    jlejll@directcon.net Please identify for 3-gun

This is a ’’FUN THREE GUN’ no class or division shoot.

We will plan on having six stages.

    More information to follow later.

Sounds like Chabot's 3-gun matches - anything goes so bring what you got!!! So long as it's legal!

What kind of shot in shotgun is allowed on your steel and pepper poppers? Are most of your 3-gun shotgunners using chokes and if so, which one(s)?
Psalm 144:1 - "Praise be to the LORD my Rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle."

Best thing to do is email John and ask. This is only the second time we've held one. IIRC, last time it was #4 or smaller on the steel. But we also used buck shot (I learned too late there are LE reduced recoil loads out there) and slugs - on paper targets.

I have no idea if anyone uses chokes. Most guys just have shotguns with 18" barrels of some sort. The only serious 3 gun guy at the last match was Adam Carlson.
