    1) S&W 1911 Gunsite edition

    2) Colt XSE LW commander

    3) Kimber pro CDP

    4) SA Champion "custom shop"

All commanderish in size and lightweight--for carry.

It would be between a Colt and Smith & Wesson, per your poll. Why, because they follow a true commander length.

Out of curiousity, what is a custom shop champion? It sounds pretty cool if it comes straight from Springfield's CS, but I'm unaware of any being on the CA roster. Thanks.

        I'd go with the Kimber.

My Pro CDPII has been my go to semi for years. When I worked at a range, some weeks, I'd put +1000 rounds through it.

            Black Majik,

The SA Champion custom carry is indeed a CS production and not on the list, but I'm an LEO--I'm just lucky I can order one.

            CSA and War Cloud,

Members of our dept that are authorized to carry 1911 on duty tend to choose the S&W but I have shot the Kimber and liked it better than my EBKC. The KC has since been sold to my brother.
