    Turner's FUD

So today I was at turners in norwalk and I over hear a guy asking about preban high cap mags in his new 10/22. The employee says that you can't put them in because you have a new gun and the cops will get him because he has a new gun and high cap. I try inform the guy that it is perfectly fine to use the high cap in a 10/22 because it's a rimfire rifle, but the employee kept butting in and saying it's illegal to use it in a new gun. He also said you couldn't use preban mags in a new glock. I was getting frustrated because the guy was listening to the employee because he worked for a gunstore. It's amazing how Turner's sells ARs and AKs now when the employees have no clue on the laws.

Being a 22 has nothing to do with it. A preban is a preban. You can also use them in a center fire, just without the bullet button.

Kinda does... because centerfire you have to go into evil features, 10rd mag capacity limits, etc... but for a 22, as long as it's 26" long, then you can slap anything on other than nfa items to stay legal.

Well this just tears it... time to open a chain of CGN gun stores, staffed by knowledgeable CGNers. can see the ad line now.......

I don't ask questions. I just buy or look... Trouble is there are a handful of Turners and they are gonna have d-bags just like every other LGS.

I wish I'd been around when there were the older gun stores, with a smith who knew more than you do, and you sit around, drink their coffee and ***** about politics.... Did they EVER exist?

Yup, and they were pretty arrogant with me too.

Apparently they think the more expensive AKs are better just because, even though they are both made by Inter Ordinance, and built on Romy G kits, and have the same NDS-1 receivers... wtf

Yet another FUD at Turners story...I have actually not shopped there(my local store) in awhile out of frustration with the un-knowledgeable employees behind the gun counter...it is disturbing to say the least.

You are losing business due to your employees ignorance and inept ability to just comprehend some simple things even my kids know.

I was at Turners in San Berdoo the other day looking at their BB'd rifles. They had a couple Entreprise FALs there, one a 18" carbine and the other a 21" standard model. I asked if they could order a Para FAL (folding stock). He said they could not, as folding stocks are automatically AWs. I said as long as the gun has a fixed mag and is over 30" with the stock folded, it's cool. Both rifles would be over 30" folded. He disagreed with me and he pointed to their other folding stock rifles with pinned stocks. They had a sidefolder AK with BB'd mag and pinned stock. I told him they were pinned because they would be under 30" folded. He said I was wrong and would not allow me to explain the law. I thought about going to my car and bringing in a printout of the flowchart but I had no desire or energy to argue with the willfully ignorant, so I left.

Never will you find a more wretched hive of FUD and ignorance than a gun shop.
