    PPT Location..what gives?

Just wanted to know what you guys think.
I think its just fair if I'm the seller, to do the ppt where its convenient for the buyer. Because the buyer have to do two trips to that dealer location. And if I'm the buyer I expect the seller to be flexible and accomodate my ppt location request. Is this fair and reasonable?

There is no right answer here. What works for some people won't work for others. If I'm selling a great gun for a great price, I really have no desire or reason to go out of my way to sell it because I'm going to find a buyer here in my area right?

Buyer and seller have to work it out, that's it. If they can't come to an agreement, nobody should get their feelings hurt, just move on to the next deal.

Very fair and reasonable, it would be nice to be able to come to a mutually agreeable location. That being said I as a seller prefer to do PPT'sat a location of my choice, especially if I have come down in my asking price.

This is usually the case, which is why I might offer then an extra $20 - $40 on top of the price we agree on, for them to drive over to a PPT location that's closer to me. That way it's not a total waste for them as they can use that towards gas money or something else. I've done that a few times and usually the seller is lenient and willing to make the trip for me.

As a seller, I like to do the PPT at an area that convenient to me. With that said, I have no problems traveling up to 30-45 minutes (which in SoCal isn't always that far, hehe) or so for a PPT. But I will usually tell buyers that I can d the transfer at any number of stores that I have used in the past and trust. Ammo Bro's in Cerritos is about as far north as I'll usually go, and OC Armory in Laguna Niguel is usually as far south as I'll go. But ultimately I try to be flexible.

As a buyer, I've traveled even further, but I usually try to find a place that's slightly more convenient to me since like you said, I'll be doing the trip twice.

I think in the end is just comes down to meeting somewhere between where both the buyer and seller want to conduct business.

Like Ezekiel said: There's really no right or wrong answer here. Its about what works for both buyer and seller.

As a buyer, you know what kind of deal you are getting, that being said I've driven up to an hour away for something I really want.

As a seller I try to be flexible on location. It does irk me though when people make a lower offer on something I am selling and then want me to drive considerably further to complete the transaction. Needless to say, those offers are rarely accepted.

I believe in stating right in your ad what works for you. My last ad said 'FTF anywhere in the San Gabriel Valley. No shipping.'. The buyer knows what I am thinking when he makes his offer. He is than free to say 'Can we PPT in North Orange County or Western San Bernadino county?' or 'When will you be in San Diego next?'. As a seller or buyer, I can than use FFL location as part of the negotiation.
The longer it takes to find a buyer, the more flexible I become ;-).

Yup, I try to accommodate the buyer, and try to make it easier on them, after-all, I don't mind driving a little bit when they are handing me cold hard cash. I think that is fair to the buyer.

I think it IS fair and VERY reasonable.

I try to accommodating. Lots of times I get lost easy. So I would rather give buyer a better deal and go where I know.

The few guns I have sold I met the buyer closer to a FFL to them. I don't mind driving a little distance that is within reason (no more than an hour).
