Did he claim to have sent you anything by certified or registered mail?

Did you send him money by registered mail?

Contact the Better Business Bureau....BBB. I think they might help.

      Or what about GunBroker themselves?

The guy sells ring tones on his website that may have been a clue that he is a flaky character.

In any case call the local LEO in his jurisdiction and file a fraud claim.

Also file a claim with his local post master and yours for mail fraud.

Thanks for the heads up on this scammer.

I dont think his website actually is a business website - it appears to be some sort of search / ad engine site..

Anyway, I actually just receiver two grips from Eddie this week - I must admit that I was kinda of hesitant to deal with them when I found out after I had won the items his email was full / bad - I received a email from a different address and just figured it was something he had not updated on gunbroker. I called to get the info for where to pay and if I could combine the items for reduced shipping which he agreed to..

I got the items, as described new in their wrappers, I guess I got lucky..

I'm sorry to hear about your problems, it would seems that GB could do something about it even though its been a while ..

Hope you get some resolution to this..

He has not sent me anything. I don't even think he tried.
I sent him money by registered mail. I'll look into filing a fraud report with the postoffice.

              Thanks for the ideas.
I'm going to try all the suggestions.
GB won't let you file a fraud report unless it is under 60days. I'm going to give them a try and see if they can freeze his account. I could not even leave a negative feedback for this auction because it is too old and was deleted in the system.
So what I did was win a $15 item, and left a negative report for him, saying "that he still hasn't shipped out my last item/refund I've won." I won't send him the money for this new item until he sends a full refund of my last item.

File the complaint with the post office, file a complaint at https://rn.ftc.gov/pls/dod/wsolcq$.s..._ORG_CODE=PU01; and contact the attorney general in the state where he is located.

                      Wow. 7 months?!
This guy is obiviously "selling" out of his garage. Make sure you contact Gunbroker admin and get him banned for selling on that site asap.
good luck with getting your $$ back.

The fact you waited 7 months... I would be VERY concerned. Anything you declare... would be negligable for waiting so long. I only pay by ATM/CC that way I can charge back if needed.

I always call a shop before I buy a firearm online. Its harder to lie about the specs of a firearm when put on the spot and may show tat they may be scammers by the lack of knowledge.

Mail him a USPS prepaid preaddressed evenlope w/ a tracking number on it to ask for a refund. As for going for the local/pd and filing a claim. Don't expect a response for several more months while it gets clogged into the system.

The first 3 months I waited because I thought CMMG was behind. The next 2 months I was waiting for a different upper that we agreed upon. The last 2 months was for the refund.
                          I can't believe how patient I was.

I did mail him a letter asking for my refund and gave him my address via USPS certified. I called him on it and he said that he has it and also read back my info., but a month later I still have no refund.

A good thing is that he left a feedback to me saying "A+: super fast payment. What a great assest to gunbroker AA+++++". So when I let GB know, he can't say that I'm lying about paying.

It pisses me off cause I sell things too, and I do my best to get the items out as soon as possible.

I just hope none of you become a victim like me, and don't wait as long as I did no matter how friendly that seller may be.

Well, you deserve the benefit of the doubt, out of fairness, just as does he, but you have a tough balance of scales to address. It is unfortunate you waited so long to resolve it.

I am not doubting your story, or your argument, but the guy does have 952+ positive feedback over the course of the past 2 years, most of it very positive with good comments and A+, and I notice many of those people buying from him are people I have either bought items from, or sold items to, in the past. He has been a member on Gunbroker since 1/20/05.

Some of his negative feedback does seem to be from undesirable people, or he did offer an explanation. Even one of his negative feedback, from a buyer, shows it was resolved:

                              Wolverine Shooting Sports A+(189) 10/13/2005 08:59 PM 36597400 Buyer:
C: Payment finally arrived after a lengthy wait. Buyer said it would show up...then there were some problems..."it's going out today", etc... At least the transaction was completed. Thank you.

Now, you have only 4 feedback. And more important and troublesome is I noticed you also placed a bid on his auction #68219163 and it appears you never intended to pay, but it was merely done to leave him negative feedback?

Is that true? If so, that was probably not the best move, even if the item is an inexpensive AR15 trigger guard, and worse, you beat out someone else's viable bid that may really have wanted that item at the $15.00 price. He now has something to hold over you, and it won't win you any points - that irrational action of messing with an unrelated auction, could serve as proof that you may be prone to act irrationally.

Placing that bid and leaving negative feedback would do nothing to help you get your money back on the August auction, and one has to wonder what kind of communication between you and him actually took place that may not be revealed here.

But keep in mind, that is just the appearance from an outsider. There still doesn't seem to be enough evidence to make this guy a complete villain. However, my rule on Gunbroker is that if the guy has ANY negative feedback, I am skeptical, but I first look at how much negative feedback, then I go read those statements by the complainants and if what they wrote sound logical, then I look at the complainant’s number of feedback and amount of time on Gunbroker.
