Metal Cabinet / Ammo & Miscellaneous

So ended up up Buying a Metal cabinet this weekend on craigs list for 40bucks. And 2 days later and a clean garage i put it in.

Any how i have screwed it to the wall so it will not fall over in an earth quake or anything.
I have also put a second hinge on all the counters for the doors.

the cabinet is a basic size 72high 30wide and 18deep

After expecting the shelves (non movable) it seems that the front two corners are sitting onto the frame like a tong and grove but the back it is just folded down and welded.

Should i be worried about this giving out?
I was thinking of putting a peace of oak cut to the size of the shelf on top to disperse the weight over the whole self then in the back 2 corners putting like wood 1" square poll to take to support of the shelf.

    Am i over thinking this.
Currently have about 600rnds of 40 another 500rnds of 9mm 300rns of 308 and have yet to put my 223rnds in there.

Should i cut my $40 loss and just shell out the cash for something better? if so any suggestions of something in the LA / noho area?

    thanks in advance.

Just don't want to find all my ammo on the garage floor one day

Take the cabinet to a autobody shop and have them tack weld it for a few bucks. Most of those guys will even do it for a case of beer.

I bought an inexpensive cabinet with adjustable shelves.

Since I was going to store ammo, I reinforced the shelf sides with 1x12 pine boards (vertically) to act as rests and distribute the load across the board instead of just the front and back points. (hope that makes sense)

I also laid a piece of particle board across the top shelf to strengthen it, since it was the thinnest one. I've got a lot of ammo in there, and dont' think it would have been strong enough on it's own without the wood to help support it.
Welding is better, but you might decide later to adjust them.

I've got a basic metal storage cabinet from HON, although it was a Heavy Duty model. The shelves are rated for 200lbs each, but they don't seem a whole lot beefier than any other shelf I've seen. On some shelves I literally have 3+ cases of ammo without any problems.

            Thanks for all the suggestions.

I think i will keep it and slap some wood in for reinforcements.
