Well enough is enough


I finally got a small itch to build a AR. So I spoke to a member who is selling lowers and I'm gonna pick one up in a few weeks. Im probably gonna pick a stripped lower and build it completely myself. This will probably be my only AR.
Now its best to build it in .223 so i can shoot 5.56 or is it 5.56 to shoot 223 without a problem? Im gonna try to build it as cheap as possible with as few frills as possible. I can always add stuff later

I haven't even completed my Calguns lower that I bought for Christmas (all I need is an upper)... and I just bought into the Enterprise GB for another lower!

CGN is going to be a basic M16 (but without the fixed irons), and the new lower is going to be an M4 with a pinned FH done in FDE/Desert camo.

LOL thanx for the support bud i just want one as a I'm gonna paint it camouflage it and take it and shoot the crap out of it. Hence the reason its gonna be a cheap cheap build. I can always get a better upper sights etc later if I decide to turn it more tactical. I don't have two of anything in my gun collection but I gotta add a AR now. it would be unamerican of me not to have one. its probably gonna take me a while to build one cause all the parts are gonna be bought used or the cheapest I can find. I want to see how cheap I can build one for and them post the complete list on here.

I built an M4 style from the ground up with the expressed intention that it would be my one and only. I am now in the gathering stages for a featureless precision build and have already started thinking about building an AR-10.

What's funny is that I didn't really care about them until the yayhoos in Excremento said we couldn't have them.

I rather just buy a few different uppers. I like the modular Lego like functionality and swappable feature of the rifle. I guess ARs are like barbie dolls for men

I thought I was only going to have one AR, so I bought a complete lower and them an upper. What happened next I should have known; I bought a sttipped lower, built it up and then bought another upper. I then bought two lowers and parts kits which, of course, will have to have uppers for them eventually.

EBR's, work like foot ware for woman, you never have enough choices!!

Cheap and can beat the crap out of would be a BCM upper with standard military trigger or maybe a RRA 2 stage trigger with basic components. They won't let you down.

Concerning the .223 -vs- 5.56 debate, Why not have the best of both worlds and get an upper chambered in .223 Wylde? It will allow you to shoot both rounds safely and accurately. Rock River Arms chambers a lot of their rifles in Wylde, and aftermarket barrels are readily available in the chambering as well.
