Question about Ar15barrels/Randalls services

So I sent this guy my upper to get the barrel threaded and stuff, nothing fancy and it seems to be taking a little longer than I expected and want to find out if this is normal for him.

He received the upper in mid-February...said it would take about 3 weeks time. On the 2nd of March he PM's me and tells me that he has the rifle on the bench and wanted me to clarify a few things. That's the last I heard from him. I've sent him an email as well as a couple PM's and I haven't gotten a single response in a month.

Now I'm seeing this guy is leaving this forum ...possibly with my property.

What recourse do I have in getting my stuff back? Can I file a police report? It is worth over $500. I paid with a US Postal money order also...I heard you can file a fraud claim or something like that since he took my property and cashed the MO without following through. I'm not really sure how to handle this..any advice would be appreciated.

Hahahahaha!!! He's playing. Its April fools! I also started an April fools thread. hehehe! Randall is the best AR15 smith I know, but he is in high demand, has a full time job that does not involve firearms and he is just one guy working on uppers out of his garage on his spare time. So sometimes, he may take longer than usual. And Randall isnt leaving Calguns!

So seriously...does anybody have any advice on what I should do?

I realize his thread was a joke...but my thread isn't. Last I heard from him he had my upper on the bench...that was March 2nd. We are now approaching April 2nd. I've tried to PM him and email him and I haven't gotten a single response...I'm getting a bit concerned.

Here's what he was doing...

$40 to tear down and rebuild the upper after machine work is done.
$45 to shorten/thread/crown.
$20 to perm attach a muzzle device
$15 return shipping for a complete upper.

Does it take a month to do this? If the rifle was on the bench March 2nd shouldn't I have it by now? For all I know maybe he thinks he mailed it out and I should have it by now? Bottom line is I'm out an upper and $120 and I want to proceed with other options...so if somebody has some good advice please let me know.

Relax. There could be any number of reasons all reasonable why it is not done yet. And there are lots of people here who have done business with him. Wait until after this April Fool's Day stuff is over, then try again.
