This doesn't make much sense, you must have pulled the trigger before doing any sort of "field stripping" (which is quite stupid as you should have checked whether or not it was loaded) otherwise as soon as you separated the upper it would not have been possible.

The absolute first thing I do with any gun I pick up is clear the chamber, how hard is it to remember? It still shocks me that some gun owners have no respect and treat them as toys.

Not true. Mine's unloaded, I'm about to clean it.I went to clean my AR and didnt check to see if it was loaded. As I was field stripping it for cleaning, I accedently pulled the trigger and shot myself in the foot.I have been in the ER at Huntington Hospital in Pasadena since last night and this is the first chance I have gotten to post this as a warning to everyone who thinks "They know what they're doing". Just goes to show that we can never forget rule #1: Every gun is ALWAYS loaded!
