USP .40 compact to big for CCW??

Hi guys,


I just bought a Bladetech UCH IWB holster for CC and it seems like the USP .40 compact might be too big for CCW. I can only fit the pistol with holster IWB below my stomach but I cannot even sit down. Am I SOL for CCW with the USPc or should I go with a sub compact Glock 36 or Glock 26 etc?

Maybe it's this plastic holster or maybe I need bigger shorts/pants

I would try a stiff leather IWB holster first. They have more give, and will be MUCH more comfortable than a kydex IWB holster. The USPc isn't difficult to conceal, but it really depends on the person's body.

Well.. can i ask you beerup.. do you have a Beer-gut? doesn't sound like it but you never know.. im roughly the same size and usually pack my usp 45(fullsize) iwb. im sure you can put the 40 away.

A little one LOL...I drink more of the hard stuff when I'm out though. Maybe I need to buy bigger shorts / pants? You have no problem packing the .45? What holster are you wearing and where do you wear the pistol?

I use a crossbreed with my full size 1911 no problem.

Unless your pants have an expanding waistband, you are going to have to size up your pants to fit an IWB holster. I find Kydex thinner than many leather IWB holsters.

Something the size of the HK should go in the kidney position w/ the BT IWB, not forward on the stomach side. That would be uncomfortable unless you were packing a very small sub-compact.

With the right size pants and rig, you can even pack full-size 1911 or Glock 21's IWB.

Before investing in another holster, try it with larger pants...

Get a Crossbreed Supertuck and you'll be fine. They are very reasonably priced, very comfortable and ship quickly. Give it a couple days to break in, like any holster. I use one with my P2000sk. I also have the Ctac Mtac but the Crossbreed is more comfortable. Ctac would be my second choice but since I have the Crossbreed, second means never starting.
